#31: Floorit
It’s always funny when you learn a word from a TV show or movie, isn’t it? All you have to go on is what you can hear, which often leads people to misunderstand and misspell things. One of my personal favorites is when people say “for all intensive purposes” because it’s ridiculous when you see it written, but when you think about it, that does sound awfully similar to the actual phrase.

I’ve never heard someone make this mistake before, though. I guess if you first hear a phrase when you’re a little kid watching cartoons, your misapprehension probably gets embedded into your brain and it never occurs to you to question it. I have to say, I like the word “floorit.” I think I’m going to start using it in my own life.
