Here’s another example of how child celebrities usually have a tough time when they get older. Alicia Silverstone marked our teenage years with her iconic characters in Clueless and The Crush. She backed out of the spotlight for a few years and has recently made appearances on shows like The Babysitters Club (2019). But the media hasn’t been kind to Alicia, often making rude remarks about her appearance – as if she was supposed to have the same face as 30 years ago.
Alicia learned how to deal with the constant ageism and hurtful comments in a humorous way, and she enjoys taking over her TikTok account to troll haters in the comments section. Despite all the hate she gets (for simply getting old), Alicia is teaching us we shouldn’t let the body-shamers win but rather have fun with our body and all its flaws.
