#7: In the Dead of Night
Sitting around telling horror stories on Halloween is one of our favorite activities, but this person had a real-life horror story to share with her friends. On their first date, her parents thought it would be romantic to go on a nighttime hike up Provo Canyon, Utah. As they walked up the trail, an unsettling feeling crept over them – the kind of eery feeling that can’t be explained by logic.
When her dad felt something soft brush against his foot, they took it as a sign that it was time to finish their hike – and went back. Years later, while watching an interview with Ted Bundy, they put the pieces together, and the unsettling realization hit them that on that same night of their first date, the serial killer was burying one of his victims in the woods of Provo Canyon.
