People’s Wild ER Stories That Give Us Newfound Appreciation for Doctors

Don’t drink and drive. It always bears repeating because some people just don’t get the message. This ER story is a grim reminder that driving under the influence puts other people at risk of injury, even death. Our storyteller volunteered at an ER and once saw a man who got impaled by a pipe on his scooter chair. 

The man was minding his own business when a drunk driver ran into him on the street. The poor man was hit by a pipe that went through his body. By some sort of miracle, the man survived the grave injury. The drunk driver who hit this man has to live the rest of their life with the knowledge that they almost killed someone. That bad decision is just not worth it.
