Record-Breaking News Bloopers: The Priciest and Most Memorable Mishaps Ever

June 30, 2026 by Jesse Olson

#26: You Probably Shouldn’t Ask That on Live TV

Year: 2015

Network: Today Show 9, Australia

Live TV often delivers unexpected moments, and a recent incident left everyone in stitches. During a segment discussing a woman’s unsettling encounter with a worm on the show Today, Australian presenter Lisa Wilkinson posed a question to her colleague Sylvia Jeffreys that took an unexpected turn. She asked Jeffreys, “Did you swallow?” The innuendo-laden query prompted the news team to burst into laughter.

The innuendo-laden question sent shockwaves of amusement through the news team as Jeffreys valiantly struggled to keep a straight face. Oblivious to the double entendre, Wilkinson forged ahead with the conversation, leaving her colleagues and viewers alike in stitches. While live TV has witnessed its fair share of slip-ups, this particular blooper undoubtedly delivered a hearty dose of laughter for all those watching.
