43. A Miracle in Pearl Harbor
On December 7, 1941, Pearl Harbor was attacked, resulting in several ships being sunk. Despite the devastation, an impressive effort was undertaken to salvage and restore 13 of these vessels. These ships were not only lifted from the depths of the harbor but were also repaired and upgraded to be combat-ready again.
This process involved extensive work, including patching holes, overhauling damaged systems, and updating equipment to current standards. Once refurbished, these ships re-entered the conflict in the Pacific, ready to contribute to the war effort.
